About Me
Hi I'm Ruth. I graduated from University of Birmingham with a honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2003. I went on to work a rotational role in Dudley, before locumming in the Midlands, South west and Wales for a number of years. This enabled me to experience many different workplaces and also to travel in Europe, Africa and South America. In 2009 I started Light Physiotherapy Ltd and fulfilled contracts in the private and NHS sectors, finally opening my own clinic in April 2025. Throughout this time I developed my assessment and treatment skills, including Pilates based rehab and various manual therapy techniques, branching out into injection therapy and becoming a non-medical prescriber in 2020.

Services
Here are the services offered at Light Physiotherapy, please call / text for more information about appointment times and prices.

Musculoskeletal Assessment and Treatment
We can assess and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including spinal pain, sciatica, arthritis, repetitive strain, joint sprains and tendonitis. We use techniques such as manipulations, mobilisations, electrotherapy and condition specific exercise plans.

1-2-1 Pilates
Pilates is a great tool for rehabilitating the body. It's main focus is improving flexibility and strength specific to your functional needs.

Massage Therapy
Soft tissue becomes dysfunctional when it's overloaded or overused. Massage therapy can restore normal flexibility and improve tensile strength within the tissue. It improves circulation, reduces healing time and allows the muscle to work at normal capacity.

Chronic condition management
Managing a chronic condition can be challenging. Learning to live with a chronic condition is essential for maintaining function and quality of life. We use various modalities to improve function and pain and help you maintain that longer term. We also help with understanding of how lifestyle can affect a longer term condition, and adaptations that may help improve your quality of life.

Injection therapy - coming soon.
Our injection therapy service includes
Hyaluronic acid injections
